Today I am--
in the office.

August 4, 2001

WOW, did I let this webpage go.

But, I suppose that's the price you pay when you have a job, and some semblance of a life. I just haven't left much time for webpage updating. But I didn't realize that I hadn't updated my location information (see left margin) all year. It just....got away.

In my defense, I've been traveling a great deal more than usual for most of the entire year. Now, I guess that doesn't really excuse the three years I didn't bother to update this introductory page; But then, I set this page up in the waning months of 1997, when I was unemployed and was awash in spare time. Today I am neither. That's good, I suppose, but I still hate that I'm just taking up bandwidth with a nearly moribund webpage.

I mean, it's not like nothing has happened in the last three years. I haven't been sitting on the couch watching TV all this time time. In fact, one of the things that has happened since I last updated this page is that my roommate got married, and took all his furniture with him. I couldn't sit on the couch if I wanted to, because now I have no couch. FYI, here's a sampler of what's been going on since September 12, 1998:

  • I bought a new computer (believe me, this is huge).
  • I got a new company car.
  • I traveled to various exotic places for business purposes, including Jamaica, St. Croix, Guatemala, and New Mexico. All of these places are very cool.
  • I joined a church. A year later, I was elected and ordained as a deacon.
  • My roommate got married (OK, technically this didn't happen to me, but the impact on me was huge...no more splitting the rent, and like I said before, the furniture was all his. And he took it with him).

These are just a few highlights off the top of my head; there's plenty more, although the majority are work-related (my job is fun and interesting, if not without its frustrations). So believe me when I tell you that just because I haven't updated my webpage, it doesn't mean I don't have anything to say. It just means that I don't have time to type it.

Or that I'm too lazy.

Welcome to the [Perkins]2 page.

Experiences wanted.

Lord, I was born a travelling man.
